When do you get Series 6 results?

You get your Series 6 pass/fail result immediately after finishing the exam at Prometric. A detailed score report showing your performance by function is sent to your sponsoring firm (and viewable in CRD) within 2 to 4 weeks.
Series 6 score reporting timeline:
Immediate (at the testing center):
- Pass or fail status displayed on screen
- Preliminary printout with your score
Within 2 to 4 weeks:
- Detailed score report in CRD, viewable by your sponsoring broker-dealer
- Function-by-function performance breakdown (Series 6 has four FINRA functions)
If you fail:
- The score report shows which functions dragged you down
- Use it to target restudying during your 30-day waiting period
- Pass/fail per function is indicated even when the exact percentages are not
Your passing Series 6 result is recorded in CRD. It stays valid for 2 years after the termination of your last registration (see score validity).
